WHAT IS A DYE (LAB DIP)?

Back to Blogs

A dye (lab dip) is a color sample created in a laboratory, used in the textile industry to test and validate the color of a fabric or yarn before mass production. This process ensures that the color achieved on the final fabric exactly matches the color desired by the client or designer.

How does it work?

  1. Dye preparation:
The laboratory mixes a dye solution based on the desired color.
  2. Application on a fabric sample:
This solution is applied to a fabric swatch to observe the resulting color.
  3. Color approval:
The lab dip is sent to the client or designer for approval. If the color is accepted, mass production can begin. If not, adjustments are made.

Why is the lab dip important?

It guarantees that colors remain accurate and consistent throughout production, preventing costly color mismatches or rejections.
